With half-term coming up next week, we have the perfect girly activity for mums and their daughters happening in our Tunbridge Wells store in the historic Pantiles.
On Tuesday 26 May, we will be hosting a mother and daughter hairstyling workshop, where you can learn some beautiful hair styles from talented local hair and make-up artist Nicola Downey.
During the workshop, which is only £12 per adult, mums will get to learn a variety of beautiful hair styles, such as fishtail braid, french plait, perfect buns and waterfall plait. Mums with Frozen fans in the house will also be pleased to hear that even Elsa’s Coronation Day hair style is on the agenda.
In April we had a beautiful day at Chiddingstone Castle in Kent where local photographer Sharron Goodyear organised a fantastic tea party scene, and models Isabelle, Orla, Grace, Jessamy, Evie, Jasper and Jake did a fantastic job in showcasing our summer 2015 collection of adorable Liberty print outfits and stunning special occasion wear.
Here are some of our favourite photos from the shoot:

We were delighted to hear the news about the royal birth on Saturday, and we can’t wait to see what the beautiful Princess Charlotte will be wearing going forward.
We think she’ll look adorable in cashmere and Liberty prints this summer, and here are three sets that would make gorgeous additions to a baby girl princess wardrobe:
Hand-smocked Liberty Print Elizabeth Dress (£79)
The stunning hand-smocked Liberty Print Elizabeth Dress has a peter pan collar and gathered skirt, and the pretty dress looks incredibly sweet on baby girls. A handmade dress like this would be perfect for a princess wardrobe, and we think it would look beautiful on Princess Charlotte when being out and about with her family.
Liberty Print Holly Dress and Nappy Pants (£65) The cute holly dress with a peter pan collar looks adorable on baby girls, and it comes with matching frilly nappy pants. We think this handmade Liberty print outfit would be excellent for Princess Charlotte this summer, and it is made in this season’s Alice in Wonderland-inspired Gallymoggers Liberty print to tie in with the 150th anniversary of the popular classic. Ideal for the new princess!
Forget Me Not Cardigan, Hat and Booties (£129)
The stunning handknitted and hand-embroidered Forget Me Not cashmere cardigan with matching hat and booties set would be fantastic for keeping Princess Charlotte snug, and it can easily be paired with both cute summer dresses and baby grows. The super soft cashmere is perfect for babies, as it is extremely comfy to wear for little ones.
To celebrate the fantastic news about the birth of Princess Charlotte, we are offering a special Royal 15% discount off everything (except sales items) until midnight tonight (Monday 4 May) with coupon code PRINCESS.
You might have noticed that our website has been updated this week with some stunning new photographs with the new season’s collections, and we would like to thank everyone involved in making the Sue Hill photo shoot truly magical.
The talented local photographer Sharron Goodyear organised a fantastic tea party scene at the beautiful grounds of Chiddingstone Castle, bringing together local businesses.
Rosemary Shrager, who has a patisserie and cookery school in the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells, supplied the wonderful, yummy cakes and tea party goodies.
Blooming Perfect Design, which is based in Groombridge, supplied all the flowers used in the shoot, including amazing flower decorations seen in the tea party scene, and local hair and make-up artist Nicola Downey styled the models’ hair to beautifully complement our designs.
We would like to thank everyone involved in making the day at Chiddingstone Castle so fantastic!
Last week we enjoyed a fantastic day in the sun at Chiddingstone Castle in Kent with a group of beautiful models, supportive local businesses and the talented local photographer Sharron Goodyear.
It was the day of the Sue Hill photo shoot, which had been organised for us by Sharron, and she did amazingly well with help from various businesses providing flowers, hair styling, cakes and more.
The models Isabelle, Orla, Grace, Jessamy, Evie, Jasper and Jake, who all came along with their very patient parents, did brilliantly, and we’re thrilled with the beautiful pictures we’ve received from Sharon so far.
We would like to thank everyone involved in making the day at Chiddingstone Castle so fantastic, and we can’t wait to share more details from the shoot in coming weeks!
The wait to find out if the royal baby will be a prince or a princess continues, but if the baby were to be a boy, we have picked out the perfect summer wardrobe essentials for any little prince:
William Shirt and Romper Set (£89)
The smart, navy and white William Shirt and Romper Set in cotton is ideal for summer, and it can be worn for any special occasion or photo opportunity. The shirt is made as a ‘onesie’ fastening at the crotch so that the suit stays neat, making the outfit both practical and pretty.
Sunhat and Crossover Shoes Set (£44) To protect baby in the sun, the pale blue, handmade cotton sunhat with contrast piping around the brim will make a sweet addition to any little prince’s summer wardrobe. The sunhat comes with cute matching crossover shoes to complete the outfit, and it can also be paired with our rompers or shorts in pale blue to make a special occasion outfit.
Scotty Dog Jacket (£79)
For colder summer days, a cashmere cardigan will keep baby warm and snug, and the hand knitted 100% cashmere Scotty Dog Jacket is truly fit for a prince. It is not only super soft, but it also looks adorable, and can be worn over anything from a smart shirt to a baby onesie.
With the royal baby due soon, it’s not surprising the Duchess of Cambridge has been said to be spotted shopping for baby clothes. Preparing for a new arrival is extremely exciting, and if the royal baby were to be a girl, here are some of our top summer picks for a little princess:
Cashmere Roses cardigan (£79)
The pale pink hand knitted cashmere roses cardigan looks adorable on baby girls, and it is ideal for keeping any little princess warm on colder summer days. The cardigan, which is hand-embroidered with roses and leaves around the bottom edge, is also super soft, making it suitable to wear both when taking a nap in the buggy and when being out and about for a special photo opportunity.
Liberty print Elizabeth romper (£49)
On warm summer days any baby princess will look gorgeous in this handmade, vintage-style Elizabeth romper, which comes in a classic Liberty print. The cute puff sleeves and pink ribbon and bow details are adorable, and the romper can be a practical and beautiful addition to a royal baby summer wardrobe!
Scallop and Roses dress and pants (£69)
For a true princess dress, the pink, handmade scallop and roses dress with matching nappy pants is stunning and superb for a garden party or other important summer event. The pretty dress in 100% cotton is hand-embroidered with roses and leaves on the scallop-shaped collar and skirt. Princess perfect!
Last year Prince George was seen wearing a personalised name sweater similar to our beautiful hand-knitted name sweater, and we’ve now added to our popular collection of personalised knits, introducing an adorable new initial cardigan.
For girls, the initial cardigan is a pretty round neck cardigan, and for boys the cardigans are V-neck style. The cardigans are hand knitted in a merino cashmere blend, and can be personalised with up to two initials on the chest.
They are available in pale blue or pale pink with cream lettering in sizes 0-6 months to 9-10 years, and they make for truly special newborn baby gifts or birthday gifts for toddlers or older children.
To celebrate the launch of the new initial cardigan (from £65), we are offering 15% off our personalised baby and children’s knits until Wednesday 1 April with coupon code name15. The offer includes both our personalised name sweaters and the new initial cardigans.
As spring is officially here and Easter lilies are blooming, it’s time to get the family ready for Easter holiday. It can still be cold outside in spring, and our beautiful knitwear is ideal for keeping baby warm in different temperatures.
In milder weather, many parents opt for cashmere knitwear, and our cashmere knitwear weight is perfect for this time of year. It is warm enough to keep baby snug, but the natural and breathable fibres make sure baby’s body temperature is regulated.
Cashmere sunshine coat, bonnet and booties set (£149)
The beautiful vintage-style long sunshine coat is fantastic for cool spring days, and the complete cashmere set with bonnet and booties, which is available in pink or cream, looks adorable on baby girls. The hand-knitted set is super soft and can easily be worn over baby’s favourite onesie or little dress.
Cashmere trains jacket, hat and booties set (£129)
For baby boys our cozy hand knitted cashmere set with trains hand embroidered on the jacket, hat and booties looks super cute. The double-breasted jacket is adorable worn over our rompers and shirts with peter pan collars, and the set, which is available in pale blue or cream, is so pretty it works for both special occasions and everyday wear.
Cashmere rosebud shawl (£169)
To keep baby snug in the buggy and during nap time, our cashmere rosebud baby shawl is wonderful to use at this time of the year. The stunning hand knitted pure cashmere blanket can also be used as a christening shawl, and it comes in a practical size, measuring around 100x100cm.
Finding the perfect flower girl and page boy outfits can be stressful for any bride-to-be, but with the option to customise and add bespoke details, it should be easy to ensure little ones fit with the rest of the wedding party.
With our bespoke flower girl and page boy service, we help brides choose outfits that tie in with the wedding theme, and one way of doing this is to add Liberty print details. In recent months, we’ve had several requests for adding beautiful Liberty prints, making our handmade flower girl and page boy outfits truly personal and unique.
Flower girl dresses can look adorable in Liberty print fabrics, but they can also be used to add colourful detail, such as having a sash on a white dress in a Liberty print. We can also make pretty Liberty print bow hairbands to match, completing the cute outfits.
For boys, it’s popular to have Liberty print waistcoats, cummerbunds, ties or bow ties (see picture of one bespoke page boy order above), which can look super stylish and give brides more choice.
Customers can choose the Liberty prints they like to match colours and themes, and we can send swatches if necessary. A fantastic way to add a personal touch to flower girl and page boy outfits!
